Dance  & Fitness Classes for Winter/Spring 2021

Note: All classes are currently reduced in volume due to COVID-19. We will be distancing students, sanitizing supplies and spaces regularly, and doing everything we can to stop the spread of COVID-19. Pre-booked classes are now limited to 10 students, and
drop-ins are 1st come, 1st served. We will not be allowing extra visitors in the studio during classes for the Fall season, as per AHS recommendations . 

Adult Classes: 


Mondays 7:10-8:00pm

This exhilarating full-body workout combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and pilates-inspired movements. Using Ripstix®, lightly weighted drumsticks engineered specifically for exercising, POUND transforms drumming into an incredibly effective way of working out.

Designed for all fitness levels, POUND® provides the perfect atmosphere for letting loose, getting energized, toning up and rockin’ out! The workout is easily modifiable and the alternative vibe and  welcoming philosophy appeals to men and women of all ages and abilities.

Heels Dance: 

Wednesdays 7:00-8:30pm

ConfiDanse Co. from Calgary joins us Wed eves for a sassy, sexy, confidence-building heels class. Some 2021 classes will be taught by ConfiDanse junior instructor Christi Tims. Open to all levels of dance experience. Beginners encouraged! Choose to wear heels or not.  This class is 18+ due to mature dance style and music lyrics.


Thursdays 9:00-10:00am

Wake up to great music and fun, repetitive dance moves. Follow along to pop, rock, Latin and worldwide music. Steps are easy to learn, and everyone can participate! Simple modifications are shown when necessary. All fun. Zero judgment.

Gentle Flow Yoga:

Thursdays 6:30-7:30pm

Gypsy Souls yoga leads a gentle yoga practice, suitable for beginners to expert yogis. Move through a variety of postures while incorporating breath.

Wind Down Yoga:

Thursdays 8:00-9:00pm

Gypsy Souls yoga leads a calming yoga practice to end your day with positive energy and stress release. Suitable for all levels of experience. 

Gentle Stretch & Strengthen: 

Fridays 6:00-7:00pm

This is the perfect class for those wanting to get into fitness or struggling with mobility.​ Increase your range of motion and mobility while you decrease stress and/or manage pain. Learn about balance and how to exercise in the best way for your body. Leanne is experienced in working with adults with a range of mobility issues. Whether you're looking to get back on track, or improve your overall health for the future, this class can help. 

Pre-School/Little Kid's Classes: 

Intro to Dance -all genres: 

Fridays 2:30-3:15pm

This class teaches basic dance fundamentals. This class is designed for youngsters who want to learn ballet, jazz, hip hop and basic movement -with a whole lot of FUN! Begin to take dance classes, and have a great time. Ages 3-6 years.

Acro Dance:

Acro 1- 3:15-4:00pm *Open level

Acro 2- 4:15-5:00pm *Open level

Acro 3- 5:15-6:00pm *Open level

Acro 4- 6:15-7:00pm *Drop-ins welcome. Beginners encouraged. 

This class combines gymnastics with dance. Ages 6+. We will focus on skill progression as well as building strength and flexibility. Students are split into 4 classes with a maximum of 6 students per class. This allows for optimal physical distancing, 1 on 1 instruction, and safety. *Acro 4 will be the only class accepting drop-ins after January. If the majority of participants register, it will no longer be a drop-in class, and as such may participate in recital and celebration performances. 

Generation POUND:

Thursdays (2 classes):

Gen POUND 1- 3:15-4:15pm *Open level 

Gen POUND 2-4:30-5:40pm *Open level

This POUND rockout workout class is for kids! Combining exercise and movement with special Ripstix drumsticks, it's just like the adult version, but with more activities to keep young minds active. With a focus on positive body image and self esteem, this class is great for all kids -boys and girls- from ages 5-13. 

Dance Combo- Multi Genres:

Fridays 3:30-4:30pm

This class will combine all kinds of dance -jazz, tap, ballet, funk, hip hop, and creative movement. For all students who want to learn technique and practice fun combinations. Don't worry about tap shoes (if you have them, great!) Come in basic jazz slippers or bare feet, dance attire, and ready to move! (Ages 6+). 

Musical Theatre:

Fridays 4:45-5:45pm

This class focuses on show-style choreography and playing a character. Students learn movement to music in character, with ensemble-style combinations. Sing if you want too! 


Seniors' Only Classes: 

Fitness Fun 55+:

Mondays 1:00pm

This 45 minute class will combine many areas of fitness including strength, cardio, balance, range of motion, and joint stability. With a designed warm up, workout, and cool down for those over 50. Enjoy a fun new way to exercise!

*New for 2021: Sessions may be recorded (just the instructor) so you can catch up or join from home.

What to wear & bring to class? 

Please note: All classes require a minimum number of participants to run. All classes also have a maximum capacity due to health restrictions. The cut-of for registration or class continuation is Feb 1, 2021.
