Dance & Fitness Classes for Fall 2020
Note: All classes are currently reduced in volume due to COVID-19. We will be distancing students, sanitizing supplies and spaces regularly, and doing everything we can to stop the spread of COVID-19. Pre-booked classes are now limited to 10 students, and
drop-ins are 1st come, 1st served. We will not be allowing extra visitors in the studio during classes for the Fall season, as per AHS recommendations .
This exhilarating full-body workout combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and pilates-inspired movements. Using Ripstix®, lightly weighted drumsticks engineered specifically for exercising, POUND transforms drumming into an incredibly effective way of working out.
Designed for all fitness levels, POUND® provides the perfect atmosphere for letting loose, getting energized, toning up and rockin’ out! The workout is easily modifiable and the alternative vibe and welcoming philosophy appeals to men and women of all ages and abilities.
Dance & Sculpt:
Jodie leads an energy-packed workout with great music! This is the perfect class for those who like variety; combining dance fitness, barre elements, circuit training and toning. Good sweaty fun! Modifications are available for those requiring less intensity. *Bring a yoga mat.
ConfiDanse Co. from Calgary joins us Wed eves for a sassy, sexy, confidence-building heels class. Open to all levels of dance experience. Heels combines several styles of dance including jazz, hip hop and contemporary. Choose to wear heels or not. This class is 18+ due to mature style and music lyrics.
Wake up to great music and fun, repetitive dance moves. Follow along to pop, rock, Latin and worldwide music. Steps are easy to learn, and everyone can participate! Simple modifications are shown when necessary. All fun. Zero judgment.
Gentle Flow Yoga:
Gypsy Souls Yoga will guide you into using your breath while you deepen your poses, as you move through this gentle but challenging flow. Suitable for all levels.
Gypsy Souls Yoga provides a gentle vinyasa class to ease the day away.
Parent & Tot Yoga:
Gypsy Souls Yoga leads a fun class using music and props to keep the little ones engaged while moving through a "real" yoga class for the parents. Tots ages 3-7 enjoy taking the poses with parents while younger ones absorb the atmosphere in a safe and happy place.
Intro to Ballet Fun:
Ballet teaches basic dance fundamentals. This class is designed for youngsters who want to learn ballet, begin to take dance classes, and have fun! Ages 3-6 years.
This movement based class is perfect for the energetic child who loves learning new skills. Classes will included fundamental movement and physical literacy skills delivered in a fun and exciting way. Ages 3-6 years.
Kids & Teen Classes:
An introductory class into Acro dance. It is designed for those with no previous experience and will focus on building fundamental skills, strength, and flexibility. Ages 6+
This class is for novice Acro dancers with 1 or more years of Acro, gymnastics or similar experience. Ages 6+. We will focus on skill progression as well as building strength and flexibility.
Young dancers love combo classes. Try a little jazz, and a little tap! This class will split time between techniques in both genres. Ages 5-8.
Explore all kinds of jazz dance, including traditional, street jazz, and funk. This class is for students with a couple of years' experience. Ages 8-12.
Performance Arts (After School Program):
Kids explore movement and dance, play drama games and theatre arts, make music videos, try fitness such as yoga and kids' DanceFit. Ages 6+
Gypsy Souls offers this class for ages 9-12. Partner poses and yoga fun offers a fantastic way to get into yoga in a great environment.
Gypsy Souls Yoga provides a teen class, designed for ages 13-18 who may have outgrown their team sports or just want to begin yoga.
Calling all divas and triple threat performers! This class is for you! Have fun while learning a combination of techniques in dancing, acting and singing. Ages 6+ all levels of experience welcome.
Learn hip hop dance grooves and technique. Class is open to all levels of experience, ages 6+.
Seniors' Only Classes:
Fitness Fun 55+:
This 45 minute class will combine many areas of fitness including strength, cardio, balance, range of motion, and joint stability. With a designed warm up, workout, and cool down for those over 50. Enjoy a fun new way to exercise!
