Dance & Fitness Classes for Winter/Spring 2021
Note: All classes are currently reduced in volume due to COVID-19. We will be distancing students, sanitizing supplies and spaces regularly, and doing everything we can to stop the spread of COVID-19. Classes are now limited to 6 students, and
drop-ins are no longer permitted. We can not allow extra visitors in the studio, as per AHS recommendations .
However, shopping and retail spaces are open.
Note: Pay attention to our red stickers, as some are operating online, and some are scheduled for in-person opening. Always feel free to call if you're not sure!
This exhilarating full-body workout combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and pilates-inspired movements. Using Ripstix®, lightly weighted drumsticks engineered specifically for exercising, POUND transforms drumming into an incredibly effective way of working out.
Designed for all fitness levels, POUND® provides the perfect atmosphere for letting loose, getting energized, toning up and rockin’ out! The workout is easily modifiable and the alternative vibe and welcoming philosophy appeals to men and women of all ages and abilities.
ConfiDanse Co. from Calgary joins us Wed eves for a sassy, sexy, confidence-building heels class. Some 2021 classes will be taught by ConfiDanse junior instructor Christi Tims. Open to all levels of dance experience. Beginners encouraged! Choose to wear heels or not. This class is 18+ due to mature dance style and music lyrics.
Wake up to great music and fun, repetitive dance moves. Follow along to pop, rock, Latin and worldwide music. Steps are easy to learn, and everyone can participate! Simple modifications are shown when necessary. All fun. Zero judgment.
Gentle Flow Yoga:
A gentle yoga practice, suitable for beginners to expert yogis. Move through a variety of postures while incorporating breath.
Wind Down Yoga:
A calming yoga practice to end your day with positive energy and stress release. Suitable for all levels of experience.
Pre-School/Little Kid's Classes:
Intro to Dance -all genres:
Fridays 2:30-3:15pm Spaces Available.
This class teaches basic dance fundamentals. This class is designed for youngsters who want to learn ballet, jazz, hip hop and basic movement -with a whole lot of FUN! Begin to take dance classes, and have a great time. Ages 3-6 years.
Kids & Teen Classes:
Mondays (3 classes):
Acro 1- 3:15-4:00pm *Open level Spaces Available.
Acro 2- 4:15-5:00pm *Open level CLASS FULL.
This class combines gymnastics with dance. Ages 6+. We will focus on skill progression as well as building strength and flexibility. Students are split into 3 classes with a maximum of 6 students per class. This allows for optimal physical distancing, 1 on 1 instruction, and safety.
Thursdays (2 classes):
Gen POUND 1- 3:15-4:00pm *Open level Spaces Available.
Gen POUND 2-4:15-5:00pm *Open level Spaces Available.
This POUND rockout workout class is for kids! Combining exercise and movement with special Ripstix drumsticks, it's just like the adult version, but with more activities to keep young minds active. With a focus on positive body image and self esteem, this class is great for all kids -boys and girls- from ages 5-13.
Fridays 3:30-4:30pm CLASS FULL.
You know your favourite musicals? High School Musical, Annie, Descendants, Grease? Now you can be IN them! This class focuses on show-style choreography and playing a character. Students learn movement to music in character, with ensemble-style combinations. Sing if you want to!
Dance Combo- Multi Genres:
Fridays 4:45-5:45pm Spaces Available.
This class will combine all kinds of dance -jazz, tap, ballet, funk, hip hop, and creative movement. For all students who want to learn technique and practice fun combinations. Don't worry about tap shoes (if you have them, great!) Come in basic jazz slippers or bare feet, dance attire, and ready to move! (Ages 6+).

NOTE: As restrictions change, some of our classes have an in-studio and online option. EX:Heels, and Yoga are now being offered in both settings.

Please note: All classes have a maximum capacity due to health restrictions. Changes will be made according to COVID-19 health laws and can be altered at any time. Be aware that requirements such as masking may be in place, and classes could be switched to online with little notice. We must follow the Alberta government regulations.
